Cars (and carriages) of the Royal Wedding 2011

Great Advert for British designed and built cars. Daimler, Jaguar purrs (instead of wispers or what ever she said) XJ being the biggest benefactor, and too right, too, etc. So what, there is German involvement, it's still British. Because of production costs being so high in other countries, it will really benefit the UK. Germany, France, Italy, Finland, Norway, Spain (closer in  labour costs only), Belgium, Sweden, Holland, even some Asian Countries are all so much higher in production labour costs. It's there for our taking. Anyone who tells you different, is out of touch, loves the eu, thinks Britain is crap etc, and a born loser. Production is lower in terms of efficiency also, not just about man power too. It's comin our way. Anyway, I do not see why  the vans and bmw's were covered by msn, as most of the cars were British. Tata, yeah, so what. XJ's were the stars.

@jenenboy   The queen has I believe just 3 vehicles at here disposal that have No number plates or tax discs as they are Crown Property they are treated as such just like military vehicles that have no tax disc (but  they do carry index Number for identification purposes)  The vehicles including the ones the queen uses belong to the state and insurance is underwritten by the crown (ie the government) the queens vehicles do NOT belong to here but to the crown and therefore are exempt.

personal vehicles of the royal family are fully taxed and insured, (ie the duke of Edinburgh who has  a T4 Taxi painted in Edinburgh Green)

 

under the road transport act exceptions are in place for instance when the police size your car that has no tax or insurance or  MOT or for purposes of  say a section 23 then  that can be driven by a police officer to a fixed destination ie a police station.

Lazy piece... you get paid for this!?!

Lots of things to say. Brilliant Wedding. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish William and Kate a Very Happy Marriage.

 

The money generated by this Wedding far outweighs any monies spent.

It also showed the whole world that only Britain can carry off such an Event.

 

To those who are moaning, i say go on moaning - no one with any sense is listening to you. Most of the country was thrilled by the whole Event.

Those that are going on about the NHS and what that money spent on the wedding could have been spent on ought to do their homework - different departments for different things i'm afraid. Most of the money used by the NHS is spent of free treatment given to all the illegals here!

 

But this isn't the place nor the time to go on about that. it was a wonderful day for the whole of Britain and the whole world looked on, as usual.

 

One last word:

TO: Baldy Bonce - It's tradition that all newlyweds have an L Plate on the back on their car whether they're driving or not.

Therefore, not illegal. Do some homework before you start shouting!

Maybe look at other wedding cars when the couple are off on honeymoon!!!!!!!!!

The Single L plate is not illegal only if  two are  attached fore and aft

Seat belts as has already been stated  by kettle vehicles that were built before the seat belt legislation are entirely legal it only becomes illegal if seat belts are subsequently fitted and then not worn, think you will find that the rolls and bentleys where built long before that came out seat belt regulations came out in the middle or late 1970 i think

this article starting by saying a good chance for our british car industry to show off, and mentioned Bentley who are owned by the german car maker vw. and rolls royce who are owned by german bmw car maker and the british jaguar who is owned by ta ta an indian car maker. so well done to the british car industry, even the van come mini buses were vw's. makes you proud to be british. many a war hero spinning in their graves!!!

Yes, I noticed the illegal rear number plate, I also noticed that William was displaying an L-Plate, which is also illegal if you have passed your Driving Test!

I agree with you comment. It was indeed a proud day. But not just for england if i may say so. Surely it was a great day for the WHOLE of the United Kingdom. Was it not?
