American Carroll Shelby is a legend. He came up with the AC Cobra, after shoehorning a V8 into the nose of an AC Ace, and ever since that time in the early 1960s his name has adorned a raft of fast cars.
To be competitive at Le Mans, six closed coupés were built on the AC Cobra chassis, and because these cars are so sought after, a modern-day recreation arrived in 2006, called the Shelby Daytone Cobra Coupé, built by Superformance. Fast, expensive and very exclusive, all of the excitement of the original is on offer, at a more accessible price.
