Mazda started out as Toyo Cork Kogyo in 1920 but didn't build its first car until 1962 - and it didn't formally adopt the Mazda name until 1984. The company's rotary-engined RX-7 of 1978 became an icon, but it's the Mazda MX-5 for which this Japanese company is now best known.
That's not the only great car offered though, because models such as the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 are very highly regarded thanks to their excellent dynamics, reliability and eye-catching styling. It's the same story for the Mazda CX-7 SUV as well as the Mazda 2 supermini.
