Korean car maker Kia started car production in 1974 but didn't arrive in the UK until 1991. Back then its products were cheap and reliable but not very competitive otherwise. Newer models such as the Kia Cee'd small hatch prove that the company has turned the corner and can offer cars that are good to drive, well-equipped and very reliable.
That's certainly the case for the Kia Sorento too, the company's full-sized SUV, as well as its all new Sportage, a more compact 4x4. The first model to show that the company had turned over a new leaf was the Kia Picanto, launched in 2004.
