Even though it's one of America's Big Three, for many years Chrysler has struggled to remain viable. Launched in 1925, Chrysler built some of the most desirable cars of the 1950s and 1960s, but recent efforts such as the PT Cruiser looked distinctive but offered little else that was appealing to consumers.
The biggest sales success in recent years has been the Chrysler 300C, offered in saloon and estate forms, but models such as the Sebring and Crossfire attracted few customers. At one time the company could innovate though - it built the world's first MPV, the modern-day version of which is the Chrysler Grand Voyager.
