Bugatti was founded in France in 1909, to create some of the most desirable sports and luxury cars of the time. The company's reputation was built on its racing history, so when production ended before World War 2, it was a brand just begging to be revived. It was resurrected in 1987 but failed again, this time to be restarted by the Volkswagen Group.

So far the only product of the revitalised Bugatti has been the Veyron, which was briefly the world's fastest production car. Initially available as a coupé only, from 2009 it was also offered in targa-topped Veyron Grand Sport form too.
