Toyota is calling for children to set their car design fantasies free with the launch of its sixth annual Dream Car Art competition – to win global fame and an all-expenses trip to Japan!
The global competition asks children aged 15 or under to design their ultimate car, whatever it may be: it can be a supersonic speed machine, a feature-packed luxury machine or an environmental masterpiece.
Entries can be paintings or drawings, and need to be submitted by 31 January 2012 – which means children have plenty of time to enter.
There are three categories – under 10 years old, 10-12 years old and 13-15 years old – with the overall prize being a trip to Japan in May next year for the awards ceremony. Both the winning child and their parent will be invited.
Full details are available on the Toyota Dream Car website, where a gallery of last year’s winners is also available to set creative juices flowing.
Toyota adds that although it is a global competition, national winners are promised from each country, meaning a British champion is guaranteed too. All national winners will be announced in February 2012 and go forward to a world contest in May.
A brace of prizes will include judges’ commendations and there will also be a special selection of winners personally chosen by Toyota’s president Akio Toyoda.
