The RM Auctions' Monterey auction event on the 17-18 August is going to be a must for fans of the iconic Ford GT40. Two of the finest and most historic examples of the 60s race car in existence are set to be sold. The question is which is best?
First up in this gallery is the Ford GT40 Mirage and following hot on its wheels is an original Ford GT40 prototype.

As a youngster back in the 60s my dad took me to a Ford dealership in Chester to show me one of these car's that was being displayed in the showroom window,it looked awesome in dark green,it was just sitting there looking like it was about to bite off my head!! My dad told me it belonged to Peter Cousin's, apparently. That Christmas I recieved a Scalextric set from my mum and dad and the same car in miniature was part of it, and that is the closest I ever came to owning the BEST (in my opininion) looking car on this planet bar none!!

If i had the money and could fit in one i would have no problem spending 5 million on one.
Ford have made some iconic cars over the years and this of the best looking cars ever made by any car co.

i want one, drove one belonging to Peter Sutcliffe on the track at Bulawyo Rhodesia, scared myself silly, almost wet my pants it was such fun, just short a few million dollars

I had one of the original looking ones pass me a few months ago...looked and sounded amazing..... Must have been some sort of kit car though if they fetch that sort of mega money....
Only cool car Ford have ever made.....
How the hell do you get your Maccys from the drive in window in that.......
