Salon Privé debut: Aston V12 Vantage Roadster

Salon Privé debut: Aston V12 Vantage Roadster

Salon Privé has confirmed it is to host the world motor show debut of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster when the event kicks off in London this week.

That’s quite a coup for our home-grown Concours d’Elegance, as the V12 Vantage Roadster promises an eyes-wide, hold-tight kind of ride. Clearly Aston reckons Salon Privé is a key opportunity to put it in front of the kind of punters who won’t blink twice at the £150,000 asking price.

You can read about the car in full in our original reveal story. But just to recap, the V12 Vantage Roadster is the drop-top twin of the existing V12 Vantage coupé.

It’s powered by a 517hp 6.0-litre V12 – which excuses all those holes in the bonnet – and is said to sprint 0-62mph in just 4.5 seconds. Top speed is 190mph, with both car and passenger screaming all the way.

On sale now, you’d best be quick as Aston says the V12 Vantage Roadster will only be available as a limited edition. Though it has neglected to be specific about exactly how limited.

For more details on the Salon Privé even, take a look at our preview gallery. According to the organisers there are only a few tickets left.
