As the cost of motorings grows, here's how to cut your cars' bills
Ryanair Mercedes ‘taxi’ for sale

A Mercedes-Benz S-Class belonging to Ryanair boss, Michael O’Leary, is up for sale in Ireland.
As you’d expect from a man who runs a multi-million pound company, the Merc S500L – L standing for the limousine version with increased rear leg room thanks to a lengthened wheelbase – is packed to the gunwales with equipment.

However, we were interested to note the S500L comes with a ‘radio cassette’, surely a misprint unless the airline tycoon has a penchant for ‘90s pop and hasn’t updated to CD yet?
Most notoriously, however, the car has previously been dubbed ‘Irelands most famous taxi’.
Mr O’Leary bought the car back in 2004 and had it registered as a taxi so he could make use of Dublin’s bus lanes, speeding up his journeys across the city.
It was rumoured back in 2010 that O’Leary had been stopped driving his own taxi by police, causing the Irishman to hire a full-time driver complete with Public Vehicle Licence to circumvent legislation.
Although a one owner car, it has covered over 170,000 miles – so Mr O’Leary certainly gets about a bit.
The Mercedes is up for sale at €20,000 (around £16,700) on Carzone.ie, and is located in Dublin. Knowing Ryanair’s loosely applied destination airport locations, it could be a little way out of the city centre, so best check the exact address before you go.
