Renault Spain launches free car offer

Renault Spain has revealed a bold ‘buy one, get one free’ offer for new car buyers in an effort to drive sales.

Any Spanish buyer who selects a new Laguna, Latitude or Espace model will get a Renault Twizy electric car thrown in for free.

The offer is reportedly worth up to a third of the price off the incentivised range-topping models – but the free car offer Renault has devised is much more headline-grabbing.

It will also mean the brand can ‘double’ sales of its high-like large cars, thanks to the registration of an additional Twizy.

Renault hopes the new offer will help drive sales in a depressed Spanish new car market: last month, sales plunged more than 17%, the lowest monthly Spanish car sales in almost two decades.

The offer is unlikely to come to the UK, though. The expensive models Renault Spain offers the deal on are no longer sold in Britain, following Renault’s bold cost-cutting new UK strategy launched last winter.

Brits may get the special-offer Twizy Renault Spain is incentivising, though: rumours continue that the firm may introduce the speed-limited Twizy 45 – which, once new legislation comes into force next year, would allow 16 year olds to drive a brand new Renault car!
