I have a the new Passat says 52mpg town and 68mpg motorways, Does nothing like the specs state and its been back twice for such poor specs.
Dash reads anything from 33mpg-58mpg overall Yet when filling to the neck shows its doing around 34-37mpg at best town driving.
Motorway shows 45-77mpg yet after filling to neck after doing 200miles gives a return of 46mpg at 70mph.
VW are able to program what the dash shows your getting and all this does is makes you feel better while your driving the car (and makes you mad when filling it as your being lied too by a computer that aint showing what your really getting) if it was show you the real specs you simply would not buy one.
Im told all cars are tested on flat rolling road no wind or air con on and town miles are tested at 30mph in 5th gear ! Ouch the car must be trying to cut out at that speed.
And as for new shape ! feel sorry for all those who have the mk6 as the price will now drop like a bomb.
Had VWs for over 15 years now and the best was the 90bhp 1.9 overall these new ones dont do anything like we are told when buying them.
Shame something cant be done about making the likes of Vw Vauxhall ford and so on live up to the specs given out when selling a car ! its false advertising in a massive way.
Another over flogged model due to a lack of imagination - create something new for christ sake!
cars are getting worse than film releases! yawn flippin yawn!
well i have to say i lost interest once i saw it has a touchscreen audio system, my car has this and it's absoloutly rubbish, a £3k upgrade done by the previous owner, what a waste of money, i think it's dangerous too as you've got to look at the screen to see where you need to press, thus taking your eyes off the road, and another thing, just when you go to tap the screen you hit a bump and touch the wrong "button" so you're then left faffing around trying to do what you wanted to do in the first place!
FOR GOD SAKE MSN, GET RID OF ALL THE DATING / NATURIST / PORN SPAM ON HERE!
I currently have the MK 6 Golf 160 tsi GT model which has a superb engine but regrettably VW are no longer going to produce this gem in their new MK 7 model. I don't know whether the lighter body compensates for the lower 20 bhp.
The pictures featured do not include shots of the boot which I belive is more spacious, I must say the clean lines of the new hatchback looks attractive and the cabin has been upgraded
In my opinion VW have done a good job and I think I will stay with the Golf again as my next new car
It doesnt look much different to the current golf which is no bad thing. The 2L TDI is the perfect car for small families. Quick, good on fuel, well made, good to drive, holds it's value and is still a premium brand. I've owned them in the past and will always recommend to a friend
