New trailer celebrates 50 years of Bond cars

It is a big year for James Bond, with the world's most successful and enduring film series marking its 50th anniversary this year accompanied by the 23rd Bond film, Skyfall, due for release in the autumn.

To celebrate this and the release of all 22 films so far in Blu-ray format for the first time, the Bond film's producers have produced a trailer of all the Bond cars in action from 1962 to the present day.

The 100-second feature includes all the old favourites including Goldfinger's Aston Martin DB5 and the 'submarine' Lotus Esprit from the Spy Who Loved Me. It also has some less traditional forms of Bond transport including the Tuk-Tuk taxi from Octopussy and the Citroen 2CV that he commandeers in For Your Eyes Only.

The trailer ends with the spectacular stunt from Casino Royale where Bond's Aston Martin DBS performs a cannon-assisted barrel roll seven times - a record.

No word yet on what cars appear in Skyfall, and the only trailer for the movie so far gives little away apart from a brief glimpse of an Aston Martin DB5. We expect a new Aston Martin to put in an appearance too, and we have heard rumours of various Land Rovers also being involved.

The Bond 50 collection brings together all 22 films so far in one Blu-ray package, and marks the debut of nine Bond films in this new high-definition format.

The films also come with a full 122 hours of bonus features, including includes cast and crew commentaries, behind-the-scenes making of each film, in-depth interviews with every actor that played Bond, a closer look at the exotic locations as shot on-the-set, the women of Bond, the villains of Bond, Bond's cars and gadgets, and music videos.

The Blu-ray collection will be released in September 2012, while the UK release date of the new JamesBond film Skyfall is 26 October 2012.
