Revealed: the least troublesome new cars you can buy today
New Fiat 500 Street special edition

Listen up ‘sports-minded’, youthful types. There’s a new Fiat 500 special edition here and it could be right up your… avenue.
Fiat has given its small city car a new outfit and an edgier look to pique the interest of fashion-conscious buyers. The result is the 500 Street, which gets dark tinted windows, natty alloys and a sprinkling of satin chrome embellishments for the door handles, mirrors and body mouldings.

First Drive Review: Fiat 500 TwinAir (2010 onwards)
Available with either the 0.9-litre TwinAir, 1.2-litre petrol or the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel, the Street comes in a choice of five colours, including Pasadoble Red and Bossanova White. There’s no word of a tie-in with the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing at this stage.
Pricing is on a par with the 500 Lounge version, starting at £11,360 for the more economical 1.2 petrol, rising to £12,760 for the TwinAir and £13,760 for the oil-burning 500 Street.
Fiat has also stuffed the Street with £1,800 of extra kit over the basic 500 Pop – with air-con, sports seats, rear spoiler, Blue&Me infotainment and a leather steering wheel all crammed in to its cuddly city car.
Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK said:
“Its combination of bold, sporty looks with a high level of standard equipment will make it a serious consideration for any value-conscious buyer.”
Who are we to argue with that?
You can grab a 500 Street from your local Fiat showroom now. But if you’re after something a little more laidback, don’t forget Fiat has also recently introduced the 1970s’ inspired 500 Colour Therapy, too.
