Renault has added lots of extra gadgets to the new Clio and says much of the new technology is highly affordable. New cost-effective features include reversing camera, keyless entry and Renault Bass Reflex high-end stereo. This has the power of a 30-litre home stereo and pushes bass distortion thresholds much higher. Boy racers will love it.

It seems that every auto manufacturer applies the bloat-pump to each successive version of their established models, together with, usually, substantial extra weight to trail around. Just look at the size of, say, the current Fiesta against the original. And, as for the moronic application of 'crossover' status to existing platforms, thereby compounding the weight increase and reducing aerodynamic effiencies..........
Surely increased engine efficiencies which are being applied at long last by the manufacturers are being eroded by increasing losses incurred by ever larger and heavier cars? The World needs more NETT fuel efficiency.
Anyway, good luck to Renault with this one. I hope that their reliability record, service costs and rates of depreciation improve.

Definitely had inspiration from the Corsa (of which I think was the first in recent times to produce a truely good looking compact way back in 2006) and the DS3 (which is a great looking car). A very safe unambitious design but non the less suffice and insurprising going off the previous design.
