Aston Martin is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the CC100 – but it’s not the first to do this…
New 174mph Jaguar XFR Speed Pack

Jaguar has introduced a new Speed Pack for its high performance XFR saloon. Following on from the long wheelbase XJ, the XFR is only the second Jaguar to ever get such an option.
The £2,750 package comprises suspension and aerodynamic enhancements, as well as raising the XFR’s speed limiter from an electronically governed 155mph to 174mph.

Although the Speed Pack doesn’t add any more power to the standard car’s 510hp 5.0-litre supercharged V8, the motor and gearbox have been “recalibrated” to deal with the greater maximum velocity.
And since the XFR Speed Pack uses the same eight-speed automatic transmission as the normal XF, it also features a stop-start system – something Jaguar claims is worth an 11% improvement in combined fuel economy and an 8% reduction in CO2 emissions.
As a result, the XFR will return 22.5mpg combined with 292g/km CO2 emissions. Which isn’t too bad if you consider the car’s increased top speed and standard 0-62mph time of just 4.9 seconds.
Distingusihing the Speed Pack from lesser, more ordinary XFRs, Jaguar has fitted a new front splitter – mounted at the base of the front bumper – and a new rear wing.
The Jaguar XFR Speed Pack is on sale now, priced at £68,130. That’s £2,750 more than the regular version.
