Lotus boss suspended following complaint

Lotus boss Dany Bahar has been suspended following a complaint about his conduct that led to an operational review.

Norwich Evening News tonight confirms Bahar has been suspended by Group Lotus’ new parent firm DRB Hicom. Staff were told today but no further information has been released.

A statement read: “As a result of a number of media inquiries, Group Lotus plc (“Lotus”) can today confirm that, following an operational review, chief executive Dany Bahar hasbeen temporarily suspended from his role to facilitate an investigation into a complaint about his conduct made by Lotus’ penultimate parent company, DRB-HICOM Berhad.”

Day to day business at Group Lotus will now be conducted by representatives of Lotus’ parent firm.

A spokesman told the Norwich newspaper that “it is business as usual at Lotus.

“We fully support the company and will continue to support Lotus in its business endeavours and development.”

Dany Bahar joined Group Lotus as CEO in September 2009. Born in Turkey, he is a former Ferrari man who led Ferrari’s global brand development department. Earlier this year, his contract with Lotus was extended by four years.
