While we generally try not to give such surveys too much of our time, the source for this particular effort is at least vaguely amusing. According to Breakeryard.com, London is home to the UK’s “most accident prone and unlucky drivers”.

Stating the obvious, you might think, given the Capital is the most highly populated city in the UK. But Breakeryard.com is an online nationwide network of breakers – that’s scrap yards to the more old fashioned – and has based its conclusion on the amount of parts requested by its customers.

The data goes all the way back until 2003, when the site first became operational. Based on this, the second most unfortunate place in the UK is Bristol, with Glasgow coming in third.

On the flipside, the site’s stats also give us some idea of the places in the UK where you are least likely to suffer an automotive incident, which include Leamington Spa, Port Talbot and Oban.
