H1 COP number plate goes to auction

An array of eye-catching number plates are going up for sale at Race Retro & Classic Car auction on the 25th February 2012.

Amongst this crop of number plates is “H1 COP”, a registration Managing Director of Silverstone Auctions (the firm hosting the sale), Nick Whale believes is “suitable for someone with a mischievous streak!”

A perfect accompaniment for that ‘arrest me red’ paint job, perhaps. Either that or an off duty Chief Inspector, anyway.

“Joking aside, it’s definitely one of the most eye-catching number plates that we’ve seen and it will be interesting to see who bids for it,” added Whale.

Enthusiasts of high-end metal looking for a bespoke plate won’t be disappointed either as the registrations “F360 FER”, “A1 FER” and “F575 FER” are all up for auction – perfect for owners of the Italian firm’s 360 Modena and 575 Maranello supercars.

Porsche 911 owners – especially custodians of any S 911 variant – can also take their chances at bidding for the plate “TRS 911 S”, while anyone lucky enough to own an AC Cobra will be able to bid for the registration “COB 13 A”.

It’s not just automotive trinkets on sale, however. There’ll be classic vehicles and race cars going under the gavel, including a 1958 D-Type based Tojeiro Jaguar, a 1966 Shelby GT350 Mustang and a 1961 Maserati 3500GT.
