Free Nissan LEAF taxis this weekend

Yeah, all very well pushing all electric cars when you have a support team following them around , but in the real world, when your Nissan Leaf runs out of juice after 70 miles,  or less, what do you do then?....Evidently it takes between 7 - 12 hours to fully charge up, although if you can find a fast charge point, you can get it up to 75 - 80 % in around 30 minutes allegedly, so these cars are only suitable if you do short mileage per day, in urban areas. And is someone who does that level of mileage a day really going to spend £25k plus when they can by a diesel engined car for a lot less?.......The other problems is that every manufacturer quotes the range for their vehicles, and yet, road testers and other users get no where near them. so you cannot really trust them, but if you are driving a conventional engined car, you simply find a fuel station and fill it up which takes just a few minutes so until manufacturers can produce vehicles that have a guaranteed minimum mileage of 150 - 200 miles per charge, people simply will not buy them so Nissan, get  your head out of the clouds and get real. The fact of the matter is that electric only vehicles are not viable and very few people will take the risk of buying one when residuals are unknown as well as reliability. There is also a consensus in the industry that electric cars will be like computers, i.e. each previous model is made obsolete by the next one which means residuals will be killed over night. If model A does only 50 - 70miles on a full charge and. then they bring out model B the following year which does 100 - 150 miles on a full charge, who is going to want the first model?....yep, you've got it, no one so don't waste you time and money on them because at the moment, they are simply not viable in any way whatsoever. .
