Ferrari tops 8 million Facebook Likes

Ferrari has topped 8 million Likes on Facebook, reinforcing its position as the world’s most popular car brand on the social media leader.

The firm passed the 8 million goal a few days ago: at the time of writing, the tally continues to rise, standing at more than 8,050,000 Likes.

Social media analysts says Likes are the new links on the internet, so Ferrari’s leadership here is a clear sign of the brand’s strength.

It is not just on Facebook that Ferrari is dominant either. The brand says it holds number one position on Google’s G+ network, with more than half a million fans. This number is rising fast too: it grew tenfold in Q1 2012 alone.

Even Ferrari’s recent presence on a leading Chinese social network, Weibo, has quickly seen it gain market leadership.

Ferrari also has four channels on Twitter: @insideferrari for group activities, @ferrariraces for the firm’s own Ferrari Challenge race series, @insideFDA for news on Ferrari’s Driver Academy and @ferrarimagazine for the official customer magazine.

“Whether it is for the road cars or the racing cars, the worldwide popularity of the brand is confirmed every day, even online,” said the firm in a statement.

All the Ferrari social media channels “show the great determination of the Prancing Horse to maintain a direct contact with the fans all over the world.”
