Ok, so this isn't likely to be challenging for the front row of the grid. But considering the materials available we say fair play to Ye Yousong from Songyang in China's eastern Zhejiang Province. If nothing else, he's certainly captured the spirit of the enterprise.

I don't think we should be so patronising. Mister Yousong is not a joke.
Its as if a Chinese Man couldn't possibly get to grips with technology when it is before them in photos and reality.
Good on the man for making it but it is primitive, and we have road worthy beds and walking mechanical elephants here to show them how to really do whimsy.
Newton is reputed to have said, "If it seem that I can see further than others before me, it is because I stand on the shoulders of giants".
That is what the Chinese (and ALL successful people) do. They will take the best we have, then they will improve it a little or make it cheaper, and sell it right back to us.
Mister Yousong is not an amusing tiddler, he is an embryonic shark.

It's fun, its' cool and it's crazy. Not sure where you would actually use it though but 10 out of 10 for eccentric enthusuasm. Remember all those home build jobs and specials we built in Britain in the post war period?

Well all I have to say is it was people with this type of enthusiasm that first started to push the Land Speed Records & Water Speed Records. This is why your everyday car today is doing 100 M.P.H. & still giving out 45 M.P.G. Good on you and you have done a great job with less money than A F1 Tyre Cost's.
This was the spirit of Adventure which is the same as the attempted 1.000, Yes One Thousand Miles Per Hour which BLOODHOUND S.S.C is attempting later This year or next. The Man had taken up a challenge & Succeeded where other's Failed & they are Special people. Best Wishes & Good Luck to the Guy.
