Campaigners are calling for the government to build a British equivalent of Germany’s famous Nurburgring to help revive a deprived area of the UK.

The official e-petition is open now and organisers hope to win sufficient signatures to force a debate in the House of Commons.
Why Brits love the Nurburgring
The campaign is being aimed at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The organisers of the e-petition want Britain to copy the model of the Nurburgring to help rejuvenate an area of the UK with a public racetrack.
This has, they say, ‘been a roaring success for the region. Tourists come from far and wide to do a lap or two of the famous public racetrack’.
A similar track in the UK would help the public ‘explore speed in a safe environment, instead of on public roads causing harm to themselves and others.’
As well as making money for the department through a toll system, it would also bring lucrative automotive tourism to the chosen area.
The e-petition is open now… but the question is, if it were successful and the debate were held in Parliament, where should the new public racetrack be situated? Which is a suitable deprived area in the UK that would ideally play host to the UK Nurburgring?
