Britain’s most haunted roads

Try the road in Dover, Kent, which runs away from the castle on the hill top and then goes to Deal. If you sit and read this and say, 'So silly, these people that write these stories believing they see ghosts etc., cracks me up'!! Well that's what I use to say until...

Coming home a few years ago in the car with parents around half midnight. Driving from Deal towards Dover along that stretch, castle coming in to view, road dips down and so people walk or run up obviously, which is harder! Approaching a bus stop on our left and about 100m ahead from the passenger seat I see 'something' running up the hill! I say something because you tell me what is a clearly 7 feet+ figure all dressed in flailing black cloth blowing out behind it, with leg and arm movement familiar but wildly controlled, moving at a speed which saw it cover the 100m to the bus stop as quick as the car, to the effect where it passed on the pavement next to us as if it were a car passing us (and we were doing 40mph)?! I had only time to see it ahead, then it was instantly there and then I quickly checked the wing mirror to see it whip off down the road and vanish seeing as it was black against black. All this literally took a few seconds and I naturally thought I'd lost the plot!

My dad driving though, with my mum as a back seat passenger were silent until I said 'Did you see anything then?' My dad replies 'Yes, I have no idea what the heck that was at all, crumbs' clearly stunned and then my mum says 'Yes, I don't wan to talk about get home quickly'! My dad is not a religious man at all, but my mum is Roman Catholic, so in the end my dad was like, 'Wow, that's the weirdest thing I've ever seen, spooky and unexplainable' and my mum with her faith agrees she saw it but doesn't like talking about it.

To this day none of us could say we truly believe in ghosts, but we know what we saw and it wasn't 'normal' in any way!!

Finally I lived in Kent and the A229 I do believe is the famous Bluebell Hill ghost. So many sightings of it it's crazy, including many foreigners who have travelled up it for the first time knowing nothing of the story, only to end up at the police station speaking about picking up a woman who vanished in their back seat. So many accounts it's hard to ignore!
