What was the BRM celebration in aid of?
Back in 1962 Graham Hill became the first British driver to win the Formula One World Championship in a British built car. That car was a BRM, and last weekend the streets of BRM's home town, Bourne in Lincolnshire, were lined with crowds for a special celebration to commemorate the moment.

I loved this time in F1 history, No team orders,no slicks, hard, soft, intermediates, they all went out and raced. You could see the drivers ( and the car numbers) now we see the top of their helmetsand little more, No kers or drs, refueled if they needed to, and all gentlemen, Wonderful.

was there! along wirth thousands...on a warm sunny day, saw Graham Hills son Damon in the Silver Ghost, followed by Jackie Stewart in a vintage Bentley.
And heard the first BRM start up - loudest racing car ever built!
Celebrating BRMs founder, another gay sportsman, Raymond Mays. Good on yer mate!
