Jaguar XKR-S Convertible for LA show

Jaguar will reveal its fastest and most powerful open-top car ever next week when it gives the new XKR-S Convertible its world debut at the LA Motor Show.
The drop-top sister car to the mighty Jaguar XKR-S coupe will use the same 550hp supercharged 5.0-litre V8, meaning performance will be similarly epic.
Losing the roof will, however, make its monstrous exhaust note even more thrilling, making this potentially one of the most dramatic driver’s Jaguars ever (even if losing the roof will ultimately mean handling is not quite as focused as the coupe).
Another potential Jaguar classic of the future will also receive its North American debut. The fantastic Jaguar C-X16 is to star on the firm’s LA Motor Show stand too, hopefully tantalising yet more people as to how Jaguar’s future sportscar will look.
Jaguar is eager to remind us it is officially a ‘production concept’: this car WILL happen. It’s a matter of when, not it: so, will any more details be announced at the LA show on this?
Sister firm Land Rover, meanwhile, is to show the DC100 Defender-replacement concepts that wowed the crowds at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The hard-top DC100 has, however, had a bit of a refresh since Frankfurt, with a body colour switch to ‘Heritage Blue’ plus the fitment of off-road-optimised wheels and tyres.
This, says Land Rover, is to highlight the DC100 concept’s ‘breadth of capability’.
The LA Motor Show opens on 16 November and MSN Cars will be there to bring you all the highlights from the show floor.
