480hp Nissan Juke-R doubles up

480hp Nissan Juke-R doubles up

The Nissan Juke-R has made a surprise appearance in the metal at a Nissan Crossover press conference – along with the news that the company is building two of them.

Previously thought to be a one-off, the Juke-R – which sees the compact crossover mated with a 480hp drivetrain from a Nissan GT-R – is now known to be doubling up, with an example being built in left- and right-hand drive.

This will presumably allow one to terrorise the Continent while the other sorts out the UK. The 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 and four-wheel drive combination from the GT-R is expected to take the Juke-R 0-62mph in just 4.0 seconds.

Looking even more aggressive in real life than it did the initial design sketches, the Juke-R features a full FIA specification roll cage, ultra aggressive bodykit and massive 20-inch alloys to compliment its enormous performance.

Both are being built right here in Britain by motorsport company RML, aided and abetted by the Nissan Technology Centre for Europe; Nissan is also responsible for the development work.

Testing of the ‘super Juke’ starts in November. We’re expecting to feel the earth move from here.
