It's time for a new version of the Mercedes SL roadster, and Mercedes has chosen the North American Auto Show at Detroit to unveil the new car. Dieter Zetsche, the boss of Daimler AG, parent company of Mercedes, personally took the wraps off the new car (above).

Dull, boring what a missed opportunity.

Should have had the "A Class" Team do the design.

 Looks like they found some 1980's drawings in a cupboard and decided to use them.

I was hoping the body work would be a bit more extreme, like the new Lexus concept those extreme body lines would be perfect for the new SL's

Lovely design, beautiful lines BUT, they forgot to incorporate a place for the front number plate - so they just stuck it over the intake grill - as an afterthought.

Comment about MAGIC VISION CONTROL and who needs one is is unprofessional SEAN.  If BMW came up with the idea you would I'd bet be babbling about it like a drunk. It does your credibility no good.  It's a clever idea, something that sets the make apart.

just looks like a bigger SLK to me----i think Mercedes Sports cars have lost their individuality apart from the SLS
