007 to star at Pageant of Power

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power – Cheshire’s answer to the Goodwood Festival of Speed – has confirmed a line-up of famous Bond cars will be amongst its stars when the event takes place 15-17 June 2012.

Working in association with the Beaulieu National Motor Museum, which is currently hosting a ‘Bond in Motion’ exhibition celebrating 50 years of 007 on film, the Pageant of Power is showing off cars from the Pierce Brosnan era.

These include the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and the Jaguar XKR from ‘Die Another Day’, plus the BMW Z8 featured in the ‘World Is Not Enough’.

While perhaps not the most evocative of all the Bond cars, the first two do at least offer plenty of gadgets and gizmos, with rocket launchers and machine guns galore.

Other highlights at the 2012 Pageant of Power include a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the legendary AC Cobra, and a selection of aero-engined machinery – including the insane 47-litre Brutus, featured in the most recent season of Top Gear.

Tickets for the Pageant are available via the website www.cpop.co.uk, with prices starting at £26 for adults and £5 for children.

More details of the National Motor Museum Bond in Motion exhibition can be found on the official website – or you can click here to find MSN Cars’ own 50-image gallery of the amazing vehicles it features.
