“Huge demand” as M25 coach tour sells out

A coach trip showing passengers the supposed delights of the M25 motorway has sold out. The bus company running the tour yesterday announced that it was adding extra dates to the £15-per-head trip to meet the “huge demand.”

Paying for a sightseeing trip on one of the most clogged roads of the UK’s network seems slightly out of the ordinary, but according to Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company there’s an audience out there.

The trip takes in Heathrow Airport’s Terminal Five, the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex and the Dartford River Crossing Bridge as well as prescribed stops at Clacket Lane and South Mimms service stations.

The tour also gives punters the opportunity to see a new service station being built at Cobham in Surrey, due to be completed at the end of summer 2012.

The M25 sight seeing experience begins with a coin toss to decide which way round the motorway the bus will travel – probably the most exciting part of the experience we imagine.

The tour is schedule to take around four hours from start to finish, but as anyone who has ever used the M25 knows, predicting journey times around the road encircling the nation’s capital can be hit and miss.

March trips have sold out already and the company is adding new dates for April and May due to high demand from the public.
