A new exhibition of James Bond vehicles will open in January 2012 – ‘Bond in Motion’ celebrates 50 years of Ian Flemming’s iconic secret agent on the silver screen.

The exhibition at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, will play host to 50 of the most famous and widely recognised Bond vehicles from the 007 films, as well as showcasing a number of machines that have never before been seen in public.

These include the Ford Mustang Mach 1 from ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ and a brace of Rolls-Royces: a Silver Shadow II from The World Is Not Enough and the 1962 car pushed into a lake with Bond still inside in A ‘View to a Kill’.

There will be other, less automotive-centric modes of transport graced by 007 on display too.

Fans will be pleased to see the Union Jack Parachute villain Gustav Graves used when he landed on The Mall and the Surfboard with concealed weapons and ammunition, both from Die Another Day’.

The Skyfleet S570 jet airliner prototype – based around a decomissioned Boeing 747 –  from the more recent Casino Royale film will also be making an appearance.

In addition to celebrating 50 years of cinematic spy shenanigans, the Bond in Motion exhibit will be the first attraction to celebrate the National Motor Museum’s 40th anniversary, which also falls in 2012.
