New SEAT Mii city car
There's a big push for SEAT's new city car, the Mii, at the Geneva Motor Show with both three and five-door models displayed. It's sure to be a winner for SEAT, which has excellent past form in this area with the Arosa, particularly with younger drivers.
What is it?
A compact town car and a brother to the VW Up! and Skoda Citigo. This design has already been winning awards as a "car for our times", quite rightly.
What's hot?
The brilliance of the SEAT Mii is that it is a ground-up, brand new design. That means the packaging is superb, the engine extremely efficient and it drives very sweetly.

What's not?
There are the usual city car issues. It will take loads of luggage and four people, but not at the same time. And the 1.0-litre engine is not going to give the slightest sense of excitement, though it does sound rather funky.
How much and when?
The SEAT Mii in three-door form will reach the UK in June, but the five-door will be here several months later. Prices will be competitive, which means a starting point of under £8,000.
Anything else I need to know?
The SEAT Mii's 1.0-litre engine is available in 60hp or 75hp versions, with the Ecomotive version capable of close to 70mpg with CO2 emissions of 96 g/km. Not bad for a petrol car. Acceleration to 62mph takes a yawning 14.4 seconds, with the 75hp Mii cutting this to 13.2 seconds.
