Third party is cheaper than fully comprehensive

Who writes this stuff?

I tried comparison websites but you never get the actual premium you are quoted, there always seems to be a catch. Like my car has factory alloy wheels, which is no problem when you deal direct with the insurance company but tends to throw the comparison sites into a fit.

And as for insurance companies not rewarding loyalty? That may be true but if you phone your current insurer up, as I did, and say XXXXX has just quoted me £45 under you renewal premium they will very quickly revise the quote.

The other thing I would have said here is that if you have got an insurance company who you have been dealing with for some time and made claims through without any hassles stick with them. In my case they took me back as a customer without any problems after I had been working abroad for two years (same full NCB as when I left the UK, everything reinstated and no awkward questions about convictions or insurance claims when I was abroad) when other UK companies were quoting me silly money for insurance.
