The cars don't cost the Royals or British Tax Payer anything. They are lent free of charge by the manufacturers who get lots of publicity in return. It's almost the ultimate product placement. The brand image is raised by being associated with the Royal Family, and the Royal Family get to use nice, new cars for nothing (Aston Martin have put up for sale a car that they had on loan to Price Charles for 20 years!).
I know it's not fair that The Royals should get for nothing what ordinary people have to pay for, but guess what? Life isn't fair!
There's no point in being jealous, angry, or bitter. It's understandable to feel that way, but feeling jealous, angry, or bitter won't change anything.
Best not to resent anyone else's good luck (like being born in the right place, to the right parents), and just do the best you can to improve your own situation.

What is wrong with the Royals? In those words of Paul Daniels "Not A Lot"
They have a Living Room paid for by the state they have better protection than most.
however, many people have their living accommodation paid for by the state.
The only advanntage for tourist to visit other countries is the weather is guaranteed. Also they have that other the Euro, which is a failure. So whats wrong with the UK "Not A Lot" Before we criticise, lets us Patronise

Again the Royal family driving Audi's. Somehow they expect us to be an adoring british population who is patriotic to the Royal family..............and yet they dont even support us by buying British made vehicles such as jaguar,land rover , aston martin. Hang your heads in shame royals as we british taxpayers actually help fund your lavish lifestyles and you have the gall to spend some of this money on (subsidised) german cars. What a great advert you are for Britain.
William grow some backbone and tell Nanny that you are driving british made cars from now on.

Wonder if they actually paid for any of these cars out of their own pocket with money they earned, not money they were given. Lifes a free ride for the royal family compliments of the working class british taxpayer who is struggling to get by. Its no surprise to me that theres so many negative comments towards this article, who honestly cares what freebies the royal family have had this time.

Not only are we way behind the times when it comes to royals - i.e every other developed country has got rid of their royal family but the rest of europe also gets way many more tourists then we do and they don't have a royal family. Also, there's no proof that they make us more money in tourism and if there is then I ain't seen it.
I'm happy for you to have your royal family but can you pay for it and give me back all my tax that they take.

why do people have to get so upset about how much the royals "spend", also don't compare the public (Mrs Cameron) with the royals, yes the Royal family are rumoured to "cost" us £30m a year, but that doesn't take in to consideration how many hundreds of millions in tourism they make us, how many other coutnries are there were people come from over the world to try and get a glimpse.
So, so what if they get free things etc. this is what our country is built on.

Another two hangers on to live the life of riley at the taxpayers expense, like the so called queen stated in was her money that paid for the wedding, where did this money come from, the taxpayer of course!!! parasites and hypocrites!!!!
And now we have to endure her 60th celebrations, who the fukc cares, we will be paying for it all, and to pay 1/2 million for a ROYAL BARGE is disgusting, is this woman in the real world with her luxury, she is out of touch with the man on the street and his finances being stretched every week.
.Diana was the only one worth anything, and we know philip and the queen had some say on her demise, now we have two more hangers on milking the system in luxury while pensioners pay more tax and struggle to put food on the table, i am ashamed to be British with the queen not giving a flying fukc for her subjects, like she cares, shes is doing ok thanks to the taxpayer.................... disband them all and divide the wealth to where it's needed!!!!!!!!

@ houghton45 I suppose you are one of these who would prefere a President like Blair and his first lady cherry or political commissar Mandelson as head of state so they can push who ever is by then allowed a vehicle off the roads in there armoured plated top end of range Foreign Built limousine one you are not allowed to overtake when they are in convoys and driving on whetever side of the street to get them where they need to go without being encumbered by the hoi peloy
The Royals bring in more money to the country than what it cost the citizens in there costs you have been reading to much of your labour left wing propaganda.
Can you imagine any body looking up to Blair Mandelson or any of the Trade union leader that you and your kind would insist on being installed.

They cost 198 million. which is actually nearer to £4 a head. They are unelected. They are unaccountable. THEY ARE THE NEW WORLD ORDER. The Irish Presendency costs their Tax Payer 98 times less. The Duchy of Cornwall is worth 696 Million Pounds so don't make out the only cost incurred is justy the 200 million a year ongoing through our Tax.And the Royal Family are GERMAN- Hardly British is it old boy..

there are millions of people out there not working and i am one of them and its not because i am not trying to get work.and the only thing that the jobcentre can say is if you dont look for work you get your money stopped.now what i wood like to know is why do somebody not stop paying the royals because they do jack **** to earn their money.and i know that some smart arse is going to say something really stupid.but it is true their money should be stopped until they get work and earn it instead of getting it for nothing.

All the Audis are on loan and replaced every two years, if they want to buy them at the end of that period, or if they want to buy new, they get a humungous discount. It's us that eventually picks up the tab for all these freebies as the car manufacturers pass the cost on the the normal buyers - you didn't think that all the price hikes were due to cost of manufacture, or currency fluctuations did you?
Charles ended up with all the Astons as gifts from the company, even the toy vantage he had as a child was a freebie!

We are talking of sophisticated long-range weapons - Al Hussaini Scud missiles would have to be launched from within our neighbouring European countries or from our mainland to reach us and mortar attacks would render these defences useless - I'm sure.

If this event can potentially bring such an attack to our Capital and people - shouldn't we just postpone. These Games are just games and in most events a mere formality. Would we send our team overseas to such a potential situation? I thought that the Olympic Games was an oppportunity to promote unity and friendship across the globe - quite clearly - I have misunderstood this.
We'll attempt to promote our country in the most positive way and then our Royals will roll up in their German Audis.
Perhaps we should get William up in a German helicopter above London defending us from such attacks.
