Nissan's premium brand does battle with the BMW 3 Series here and although it's not as accomplished in any department, the G37 is different enough to hook you if you like a gamble.
Underneath is a 3.7 V6 and the fab chassis from the Nissan 350Z, with four-wheel steer for tighter turns and a limited slip differential (that splits the torque between the back wheels to stop the outer one spinning when exiting a bend).
Generous equipment and a quirky body might just clinch it if you want to stray from the German safe bets.
