Coming in joint with the Fiesta is the second generation of Ford's cute KA. The KA lost the same 34.2% of it's initial £7,945 purchase price in 2009, holding on to £5,228 today. It's another good performance by a Ford supermini and proves that the KA is still a popular car 18 years after the first generation went into production.

Do recent Golfs and Polos genuinely have "good (or excellent) build quality" and are they that reliable?  I've seen plenty broken down with duff coil packs and electrical glitches come free.  My recent experience is that they're on a par with the average Ford or Vauxhall....  VW certainly dont market them on reliability anymore... wonder why that is?   Oh and by the way, VW dealers are as expensive as Audi or Merc.

Depreciation is for snobs and mugs.  Find somebody selling a car about 2 years, drive the hardest bargain you can, run the car until it won't go any more (may take up to 10-12 years) then repeat.

Let some other year snob take the depreciation hit.

By the time a car is two years old all its major and minor problems have been (mostly) sorted out.

Buy a second hand car and not new problems.

Peace.

That just helped make my mind up at what car I'm buying, for 5 years time :-D

Joking.

Rather irrelevant MSN. You can do better, like non-symmetrical cars
