Toyota has capitalised on society's obsession with social networking with its Fun Vii (Vehicle, interactive, internet) concept. The car "reflects how you feel and what you are doing every hour, every minute" by using its body as a display space for interchangeable content. Facebook on wheels, then.

I understand that with this modern technology, cars and other things will obviously adopt an extremely futuristic appearance. I only hope that one day they will be able to adapt the same technology and place it in a slightly more classic, old-fashioned shell and bring a bit of character back into this plastic world.

Interesting!  Quite a few are as ugly as sin.  However, at last, Toyota are going to field a Hydrogen fuel cell car in 2015.  We can therefore finally wean ourselves off fossil fuels.  I thought Honda was going to be first with the Clarity, but Toyota's FCV-R (oh, doesn't the name roll of the tongue?) is a step in the right direction.

Before I save my hard-earned pennies, though, that front end will have to go, or I at least will need to get accustomed to it.  Why shape the car that way, unless the purpose is to use it as a wedge through rush hour traffic...?

Many of these are definitely not designed with humans in mind - you'd look ridiculously out of place unless you look like a video game morph. Buyers usually 'imagine' how they would look in a car when considering purchase. A call to all 'designers' to chuck away their computer programmes, which do everything for them, and pick up the pencil, learn some basic brain to hand skills and let your imagination develop with time to actually 'think'....an alien word to most! Today's car designers, aesthetically, are verging on the worst in the history of the automobile. Look to some of the work by coachbuilders of the past and some of the beautiful cars they produced.

How do you get in the ShoCase when in a car park? You'd have to park away from everyone else and hope you don't get someone else parking next to you!!

Oh, come on! Pretty designs, unrealistic designs, because they neve end up like that on the road. So who are they appealing to? But the missing point is - do want you want with the design, tease us, tempt us. But get rid of the internal combustion engine!
