Many a 1930s Alfa went on to be powered by some version of the legendary 8C (as in eight cylinder) engine, but the 8C 2300 was the original. Three versions of the 2300 were available, a long-chassis, short-chassis and the race-orientated Monza. The auctioned model (chassis 2311218) boasts a long and illustrious racing career which includes all the major European racing events.
