Hennessey Venom GT - 265.7mph
The Hennessey Venom GT is technically the fastest car you can buy. It hit a top speed of 265.7mph on a runway in America. Now the knowalls among you will be screaming that the Bugatti Veyron SuperSports is the fastest car ever tested - and it is, after hitting 267.8mph, but its top speed is limited to 258mph to save its tyres from exploding. So technically the Venom Whatsitsname is the fastest street-legal, production car you can buy.
And the Venom isn't the only member of the double tonne club you've probably never heard of either. In fact, here are 20 of the fastest cars you've never heard of.
