Three-wheelers: a brilliant idea, or simply one wheel short of a full footprint? We've gathered together what we think are the 10 best three-wheelers the world has ever seen. To balance things out, we've also voted for our 10 worst three-wheelers: machines that basically look and behave like cars with one wheel that's fallen off.

No question, Morgan is the daddy and granddaddy of all three-wheelers. Its simplicity has never been bettered. Morgan's first made trikes way back in 1910 and carried on until 1953. Now it's returned with a superb 21st century reinterpretation, complete with modern V-twin engine and Mazda gearbox. Biggles is back, proving that three wheels is all you really need.

I like the Morgan, but in my opinion the T Rex by Campagna is the cream of the crop. It is reasonably affordable for a "Super Car" and has the numbers to back that claim up. 0-60 in under 4 seconds, top speed 140 (while lying on the ground-YIKES) and generates 1.3 lateral g force! But the ultimate test is, it SELLS WELL! Lets face it, not all of these cars (or bikes) are economically feasible.

Don't for the kit car called the Tri-Magnum. I remember wishing I could build one when I was a teenager. it looked so cool and sounded like it would be the fastest thing on wheels.

As a little lad (now 65) My uncle used to take us "kids" out in various models of his Reliant, from the 21E with the raked back window to his gold Supervan.......I have actually just got rid of my 1997 Robin Hatchback SLX......but I think my old Berkely with the 328 cc Excelsior Engine was more like driving a little sports car AND it used to shift along pretty well.

I was quite disappointed when my brother bought a Bong MkG Estate with the Villiers 2T engine (250cc Twin) as it was like driving along in a motor boat with the front bobbing up and down.

Only good thing about it was that it was easy to park.......we come home one evening, nowhere to park.........just a space about a foot or so longer than the Bond........He Pulled up along side the space, spun the steering at 90 degrees and swung the front end in.

A young couple sitting in their Ford Anglia were wondering if we were going to leave the back end sticking nearly 3 feet off the kerb.........both being six feet tall, and fairly fit, we just picked the back end of the motor up and "lifted" it into the kerb....JOB DONE!

The T-Rex is made by CAMPAGNA, not Tramontana...otherwise, I agree that it should be here. It's an amazing 3 wheeler, especially with the VERY expensive aero body.

If Labour had its way we would still be driving in the Mercedes Motorwagon,

With a man walking in front waving a RED FLAG  naturally
