I have had various BMW, Mercedes & Audi convertibles & whilst all have been nice cars, they have all required amounts of warranty work disproportionate to their price,  image & brand values - the worst being Mercedes. Needless to say, this did nothing for my confidence & all were sold before the manufacturers warranty expired. My most reliable convertible has surprisingly been a Saab, which unlike all other brands mentioned was delivered fault-free and required zero warranty work during the 3 years manufacturer's cover. It has been so reliable that we kept it as a 'spare' car for summertime use. Pleasurable motoring is not about depreciation or even performance, the car has to be reliable..

I have an A3 soft top, s-line black edition, all the bits on my first decent car, biggest mistake i make, in nearly 3 years had roof down less than 25 times i had to put it down first day i got it, january when englad was white, full of snow it had to be done loved it.

love the car itself but as im now working miles from home its time to get rid and get something cheaper!

i went to another A3 1.6 or 1.4 something to rack miles on an not be bothered, unfortunatley i was going to get stung by audi, i would rather owe them £2.5k now or we calculated what i would use up until it was finished a year and a half later and it would cost me roughly £3.5k to £4k as well as my final payment, they cost u more in the long run! nice car but pricey!
