Clarkson on public sector workers' strike
Jeremy Clarkson has apologised after his controversial comments on the BBC's One Show when he suggested public sector workers should be "shot" in front of their families for their recent strike action over pensions.
He said: "I didn't for a moment intend these remarks to be taken seriously - as I believe is clear if they're seen in context. If the BBC and I have caused any offence, I'm quite happy to apologise for it alongside them."

I think Jeremy Clarkson is brilliant. He may sometimes speak before his brain engages but that is part of his appeal.
As for striking, they are lucky they have the option, look at the armed forces, underpaid overworked, living in substandard housing. These guys don't have a choice to go on strike. It would be interesting if they did.
Although Clarkson's comments were over the top even in the form of a joke. Most public sector workers don't know what a proper hard days work means. They should stop complaining as it is the tax payers who pay there wages and there pensions.
Also for one of the union leaders wanting to take legal action against Jeremy Clarkson is complete utter stupidity and should quite frankly get a life.......
Guys. It was intended as an exageration; mocking the BBC's fairness policy by being fatuos.
I feel the Clarkson haters have jumped on the bandwagon with this one. Especially those in the public sector who have had their pride dented because no one's taking them seriously enough.
It's not Clarksons fault you've got a s h i t e pension.
