One Direction were one of the first acts on show, singing aboard a truck that took them around the Olympic arena. This was to ensure the crowd got a good view. As did the occupants of the BMW 3 Series here: as official car supplier, BMW Group cars could be shown uncovered.

MINI Countryman (2010 onwards)
Alfa Romeo MiTo TwinAir (2012 onwards)
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe (2007 onwards)

It should be noted that the Phantom Dropheads were series 2s as well. Im not sure if they were revealed along side the series 2 saloon but they caught my eye.

 

 Its a shame BMW couldnt have allowed a display of some of our more heritage brands like aston, bentley, morgan, jaguar and lotus etc. A symphony of new Vanquishs would have been better than one direction.
