Once you've pondered our list of the best cars of 2011 it's time to look to the future - namely what the automotive world has in store for 2012. We've rounded up a whole stack of new cars coming next year. Let us know what you're looking forward to the most in the comments below.

Alfa's lightweight turbo coupe is almost with us. That it may not match the dynamic ability of rivals from Porsche and Lotus can be forgiven in the face of such knee-trembling looks.

A 'British' alternative ?????? Dont  you mean a Chinese alternative. My memory isnt that short. Its not that long ago that MG was sold off.

Buy a Renault Twizy for £7k-I think not ! It would not tempt me to ride in traffic if you gave me one free. The new Audi 1 looks nice but again overpriced - no wonder the likes of Kia & Hyundai are taking over!! How I would like to buy a British car made by British workers - just shows how old I am.!!

WOW!.... what an uninspiring bunch of 4 wheeled boxes we've got to look forward to. Other than £1,000,000 for the Jag (which I aint f**cking got) I reckon I'll be sticking with the piece of crap parked outside....

Apparently the 4C is suppose to be a Lotus exige rival, weighing only 750 kg. If that's true, maybe they will begin to strat producing sportscars once more (and not 'sport cars').

The Mini Paceman??? What is the point in that? The mini Countryman and the Coupe were already a step too far, and now this!! Stealing sales from the Evoque? Get real, Mini!

Volvo V60 Plugin Hybrid.  Great idea. Expensive idea though.  Happy New Year.

Ford Kuga (12/46): A "motion sensing tailgate that opens by waving a foot under the rear bumper"? I predict that within a few months of cars with this feature hitting the road, it will have been quietly withdrawn due to the high number of thefts, as well as its tendency to open for any stray cat hiding from the rain. Presumably this was introduced to help shoppers carrying so many bags that they couldn't get their keys out of their pockets, without realising that a simpler solution exists - putting a bag or two down, while you fish out the keys.

Renault Clio (33/46): Which of the four completely different cars in the picture is supposed to be the Clio? I'm presuming it won't be the sports coupe on the far right, and probably not the fake-SUV second right, but there's nothing in the picture to indicate which of the other two it would be, and nothing in the text at all.

I'm a bit suspicious about the Chrysler 300C. Although it says Chrysler, it's going to be badged as a Lancia Thema in the rest Europe.

New Year greetings everybody!  The GREAT news is that in only 91 days........it will be APRIL!

We have all moaned about the quality of some of the Journos on here, and dismiss much offered as 'naff' (being polite!).  However...Well done MSN on the new motors feature.  Excellent, in my humble opinion.

Many of the cars are really good to look at - hope they drive as well!  Younger readers should check back 50 years at some of the stuff we had to drive then!  OK, we had some classics - E type, the TR's and, the classic Mini to name but some.  Trouble was, they were about as reliable as (fill in your fave hate!) and rusted away to nothing in 5-7 years!  We were all good with filler and fibre glass in those days.  Happy Motoring!

PS:  Wish these wretched spammers would go away - selling dreams that are exactly that - wishful thinking.
