The new Audi A3 was the first car to get the Volkswagen Group's new MQB platform - making it lighter and stronger, which also means its faster, more efficient and safer. Usual Audi design chops, but limited originality. Still, a very good car.

Oh let me guess, oh yes the BMW will win and god only knows why, not sure who completes these surveys but let's just say they must be on the BMW pay role.

Excuse me. 2012 isn't over yet. There are still more new cars to be released this year. As for 2013, everything you expect will be old by then. Who knows what revolutionary changes may take place in the next 15 months? Maybe you should be talking now about what really deserves the 2011 accolade & leave the rest till it happens.

Hope it goes to the Subaru BRZ\Toyota GT86. Look fabulous, and a step back to the old days of a lightweight, no-nonsense sports car

I have owned a Vauxhall Ampera since may 2012. It has proven to be piratical, reliable, economical and great fun to drive. It gets my vote.

Toyota Prius Plug-in - Now it will go up to 15 miles before troubling the petrol engine. Wow! a whole 15 miles, this is just what i want, and shows why these electric/Pc cars are soooooo exiting.

Fiat 500L is so cool! Bring back the little ones and consign the behemoths to history!! Perhaps then congestion will experience the same fate. Lets have our city space back please  car makers. Size does matter.

Good to see Audi leading the way again, going lighter but stronger when everyone else is gaining size and weight. Class brand.

Now we're talking! ED is Smart indeed..hope Boris is reading this? Now if only they can make a four-seater of slightly bigger proportions perhaps we could downsize public transport and all save a pretty penny.
