BMW teams up with Italian styling gurus at Pininfarina for slick new coupe
Audi Cross Cabriolet Quattro
Audi declared in 2007 that it was "introducing a new vehicle segment" when it launched the Cross Cabriolet quattro concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Where have we heard that before? Audi said the Cross Cabriolet combined "the genes of a dynamic soft-top convertible with the all-round qualities of a fully-fledged SUV". Doesn't that make you cross?

What’s the matter with you guys, we have a traditional British car maker, making cars that people now want to buy and have started to push the boat out in design and innovation and all you can do is put it down!
Also you may say the company is now owned by the Indians which gives a lot of you ammunition to poo poo JRL, but at least it’s putting food on the table for thousands of British people! You don’t see the Germans and now the new kinds on the block “the Koreans” doing that!
Love it, only a concept so time to give a slight face lift, I have owned many cars,(BMW, VW, Kia, Ford Vaux, etc) but by far the best car I ever had was the RR Sport! Real sad day when I had to let it go. Looking at the Evoque for when I'm back working in UK.
Agree with another post... it will give jobs to the british workers and shows we are not stuck in a design rut! If it goes into production just watch BMW, VW and the rest start to copy it! Once again Love it for all the right reasons!
Some bad vibes from you folks. This is not the only ugly car on the road, thats if you believe it to be ugly. I mean have you looked at "Smart Cars" for instance - what the f***. Is it even a car. And then so many other just seem to copy each other with designs that mean that none stand out from the rest. maybe that is a good feature in this one.
OR MAYBE IT IS AN APRIL FOOL - we will soon know
Out of all 4x4 manufacturers land rover is by far the best off roader you can buy and the next and its still a LONG way off is the Hi-Lux.
The company is still running, saab is not (on build quality 4 example). both Ford and BMW bought land rover for the 4x4 technology.
Any car can break down these days there was a mini (BMW built) that broke down the day after it was driven out of the show room.
If you want a 4x4 land rover is the way to go.
Oh and remember that the Evoque was the best selling small 4x4 last year.
Anyone who buys a convertable wants be be looked at, next short sighted comment?
Well done Land rover!!!!!!! great car.
The BEST 4x4xFAR!!!!!
And i will be honest i use to like land rovers, but the reliability is very poor, i have had 3 discoverys and a range rover all guzzle the fuel and all were in the garage more often than me driving the bloody things.
Landrover is an over rated diamond ring, they have lots of faults mechanical and electrical to air suspention problems, due to poor materials used to take the bumping around and knocks when driving.
Nope ive had my fair share of these motors, i think they are a truely over rated motor, and not for normal road use, they cost more to run and the parts are a complete rip off, and from my dealings with land rover they can,t fix some problems and they are there own mechanics, so what does that telll you. I went to another garage, and they fixed it with in the hour. Nope ill use main street dealers now they getting worse for service and actually being able to diagnose faults properly and correctly, if you have been in business as long as these people have and with all that designing and can,t repair the your own products, what good are you to me as a customers with all that fancy tv polished advertising.
no thanks you can keep it, the defender was a bag of bolts anyway, good for farmers and towing for them at very slow speeds, but crap on the main road, they have no guts in them. I have,nt owned one, but i did get to drive one for 2 weeks, and it was terrible, nothing but clonking and banging sounds and it felt loose and it wondered all over the road.
I think 4 x 4,s are a waste in england, they are not for our roads, they just diamond ring for hello magazine false type people, who can,t think beyond a postage stamp.
nope you can keep it, besides they are over priced and un reliable, at this type of money i expect it to run for some time with out breaking down all the bloody time, so i got rid, best thing i did. ill never have one again.
@GarryRF.
Its not about being sore losers (in my case, far from it) Its not a good looking car. It is aimed at a market where looks over rule quality, value, and in Land Rovers case reliability .
Last year, I bought a new car. Its not British, but the make has a very good record. It wasn't any less expensive than a Land Rover, but I have never read, or heard of any complaints by other owners, whereas I have heard many negative comments from past Land Rover owners .
I have owned three British make vehicles in the past, and have been let down by them all, and the manufacturers.
I suppose it will be useful to some, for doing the mile long, school run in London, or perhaps, to wave to, in passing, on the hard shoulder, waiting for the Land Rover recovery truck.
