Traffic jams are an expected annoyance, usually because either everyone wants to be home at the same time or because someone has decided that the laws of physics don't apply to them - when sadly they do...
There are roads in the world where accidents are an almost daily occurrence. Some of the accidents are weather-based, others are speed-based. There's even a road in there that puts you at risk of both terrorists AND bandits. That's just plain scary.
There's a worrying number of appearances from the UK in our list. It may be because of our roads or it may be because of our drivers - but it transpires that a couple of our roads aren't as safe as we think.
Danger doesn't necessarily mean the surroundings aren't beautiful. Some of the roads on this list are truly stunning.
There may be other dangerous roads out there, but these are 20 that caught our eye. Some of them make us grateful the M25 exists. Even if it is rubbish...
The majority of drivers don't do this, it's more a case of trying to deal with something when it happens, rather than being careful
in uk there are known death trap- to police and government. the road from sheffield to manchester being one deadly hazard.
on m6 just after j15 there is a bend to the left going downhill- you are doing the usual 70mph and the gravity pulls you to the right and feeling that your last moment of earth is right here.
others in the pennines are just mad engineering in winter. frighteningly poor design.
