Seven-seat version of Fiat 500L revealed with new ‘Multi Purpose Wagon’

Stars of The Only Way Is Essex, Big Brother and other reality TV shows are having a major impact on our car buying habits according to the Pendragon, UK's largest independent car dealer group.
For celebrities like TOWIE stars Lydia Bright and James Argent (pictured in a white Rolls-Royce above), Amy Childs, Katie Price, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, it seems that white cars are the must-have fashion accessories of the moment. And where they lead, it would appear the British public is predisposed to follow.
"We've seen a material increase in the number of people driving white cars, it's one of the top five colours for new car buyers," said Pendragon chief executive, Trevor Finn.
"Every 10 or 15 years there's a cycle where white cars become very fashionable, and we're now in it."
Anyone who keeps a close watch on the car industry will have seen today's white car trend emerge on motorshow stands a few years back but the growing number of celebrities being pictured in them has sent sales rocketing.

Tripe. White cars have been en vogue since Audi and BMW started advertising using white cars in ad's and as the centrepiece cars in their show rooms for at least the last three years. The public, be they retail or fleet punters have been lapping it up ever since. Also, manufacturers pay "celebrities" as brand advocates, so ultimately it remains the manufacturer who decides what colour is en vogue. Unlikely that any of the premium badges would pay any of the TOWIE non-entities to be seen in their product though, so they've probably been hooked up with their white vehicles by some hanger on, having jumped on a three year plus old bandwagon.
Who cares really what colour car they have !.
Indeed white is more noticeable than any other colour, perhaps they feel that they wish to be more notable to the public for some reason.
Most people prefer white for a wedding car !.........perhaps they feel married to the public out there if they choose white,
I personally would not choose white as it shows up the dirt and after years shows up rust !
I guess I cannot afford to change my car every year like they do well that's the truth, get a reliable comfort car is more important to me and now, I should look out for eco friendly car next, I guess the stars out there don't care much about eco friendly green cars now do they !.
Actually white shows general road dirt a lot less than any other colour, so it is the colour that needs to be cleaned less, even rain stains a dark colour, whereas it wont show on white at all. However, this leads a lot of people to get lazy about clearning thier white cars, and hence we see some really really filthy ones.
The trend to white has come from the change in front end styles, mainly on the expensive German cars and suprt cars - the more agressive grills and air intakes, lights etc are all contrasted much more clearly against a white paint job, and hence the trend has gone towards them - it brings out the detail and the front of any car, and with thier fancy fairy lights and headlights the frtong end is clearly meant to be an aesthetic feature.
