Valentine Warner, 37, began his cookery career working under some of Britian's most respected chefs, before starting his own catering company.

In 2008, he turned to TV presenting, and his series What To Eat Now was shown on BBC Two.

WHAT DO YOU DRIVE?
I drive an Audi Allroad, which I've had for a few months.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?
It was a Ford Fiesta. I do have very fond memories of it, but it came to a sticky end unfortunately.

WHAT WAS YOUR BEST/WORST CAR?
My best is probably the one I have now, because it does the things I need it to do. It can go down very bumpy, muddy tracks and get bashed about, and it's got a great stereo. It's very good for long journeys too, and I seem to be doing a lot of those, and it also has a lot of room in the boot, where I can put all my camping kit and fishing rods. I've always got a lot of kit.

I don't really have a worst car - I've had very close personal relationships with all of them. Every time I sell one, it's like splitting up with a girlfriend.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAR?
No, I'm totally not interested in fast cars at all, so I've never wanted a sports car. The point of cars for me is that they are practical.

DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF TO BE A GOOD DRIVER?
It's debatable - I think I'm great, my friends think I'm terrible. I'm probably not too bad.

WHAT DO YOU ALWAYS KEEP IN YOUR GLOVEBOX?
A corkscrew, which sounds dodgy, but it's not because I drink and drive. Besides that, probably an A to Z, a torch and chewing gum.

WHAT DRIVES YOU MAD BEHIND THE WHEEL?
I don't like watching other people getting stressed out in traffic jams. I always think there's nothing you can do about it, so think about something else, like your kids or mowing the lawn. It doesn't make me mad though, because that would be completely contradictory.

WHAT'S THE BEST MUSIC TO DRIVE TO?
That's an impossible question because it totally depends on what kind of mood you're in when you climb into the driving seat. Hopefully you've got enough music in the car to suit whatever mood you're in, but on the whole I like Grace Jones in the car.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A CRASH?
I've had a few, but nothing too serious. Normally it involves mud and skidding into a tree.

WHO WOULD BE YOUR PERFECT PASSENGER?
I think it would have to be my girlfriend.

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE EVER DONE IN A CAR?
I'm going to sound really un-crazy, but about the craziest thing I've ever done in my car is play a game of backgammon.

WHO CLEANS YOUR CAR, AND HOW OFTEN?
The guy at the end of my street cleans it about once every three months. When I climb behind the wheel and I can't see out of the windscreen, it's probably time to have it cleaned.
