There have been some right dogs in the car industry over the years, but most of those that have taken their names from the animal kingdom have been pretty desirable. Not in every case though...
Probably the most copied automotive shape ever, with the possible exception of the Lotus Seven, the Cobra started out as the pretty, innocuous-looking AC Ace. Then Carroll Shelby slotted in a 4.7-litre V8, later a 7-litre lump, and the rest is history.
